Looking back at when I first got into SEO over 15 years ago, most agencies were still doing ‘spammy’ link building and content optimization was stuffing as many keywords as possible into the copy. What’s interesting is there’s been a massive transition in understanding since then.
After spending 5 years working directly in-house with law firms, I noticed something frustrating – many agencies weren’t delivering real results for legal clients. They’d lock firms into long contracts, produce fancy reports, but rarely move the needle on results. They simply didn’t ‘get’ law firms.

I’ve worked in SEO for more than 15 years across various sectors, but my true passion developed during my 5 years as an in-house marketing leader for a major international law firm.
In that role, I headed marketing for one of the firm’s most profitable practice areas – Personal Injury and Medical Negligence – in an incredibly competitive niche.
